TEBBIT Upcoming Launch of Passkey Feature (Biometric Authentication)

1. What is the Passkey + Biometric Authentication Feature?
1. Passkey is a passwordless authentication method that uses asymmetric cryptography to generate a unique credential exclusively for your TEBBIT account. It is securely bound to your account, making it immune to phishing attacks and significantly reducing risks such as password leakage and credential stuffing, offering greater security than traditional password + OTP verification.

2. TEBBIT integrates Passkey with device biometrics (fingerprint recognition, facial recognition), so you don’t need to remember complex passwords or manually enter verification codes.

Simply unlock your device using your usual method (fingerprint, face), and you can quickly complete login, transaction verification, and other operations.
 3. Core advantages compared to traditional verification methods:

  • More secure: Based on asymmetric encryption technology, the private key is stored only on your device, never transmitted or stored on TEBBIT servers, completely eliminating risks of password leaks, SIM hijacking, and phishing attacks.
    • More convenient: No need to remember complex passwords or receive and enter verification codes; biometric authentication enables one-tap access.
  • Cross-device synchronization: Supports Passkey synchronization via iCloud Keychain (Apple devices) and Google Password Manager (Android devices).

Friendly reminder: Biometric data is stored only on your local device and will never be uploaded to MGBX servers. The server only confirms the success of biometric verification, ensuring comprehensive protection of your privacy and security.

2. Complete Passkey Creation Process

Prerequisites:

 1. You must be logged into your TEBBIT account;
 2. Your device must support biometrics (fingerprint/face) and have biometric unlocking enabled;
 3. Android devices must be upgraded to v1.4.0 or higher, iOS devices must be upgraded to v1.4.0 or higher, and web browsers must be mainstream browsers supporting Passkey such as Chrome or Safari.

4. You need to have Google Authenticator installed on your phone to add a Passkey. If Google Authenticator is not installed, you will see the message: “Failed to add Passkey.”

(1) iOS (iPhone/iPad) Creation Process
1.
Open the TEBBIT iOS app (version v1.4.0 or above), tap the icon at the top left

, then tap your avatar to enter personal information;

2. Tap “Security Center,” enter it, and find the “Passkey” section;

3. Tap “Add Passkey,” the system will prompt you to verify your current account identity (you must complete existing 2FA verification, such as Google Authenticator or SMS verification);

4. After identity verification passes, a confirmation pop-up will appear. Verify your TEBBIT account and tap “Continue”;
 5. The system will automatically call the iOS device’s biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID). Once verified, you will see the message “Passkey created and bound”;

6. If you have iCloud Keychain enabled, the created Passkey will automatically sync to all Apple devices logged in with the same Apple ID, so you don’t need to create it again. If not enabled, the system will prompt you to enable iCloud Keychain for cross-device use;
 7. After creation, you can view the bound Passkeys on the “Passkey” page, rename Passkeys (to help distinguish devices), completing the entire creation process.

(2) Android Creation Process

1. Open the TEBBIT Android app (version v1.4.0 or above), tap the icon at the top left

, then tap your avatar to enter personal information;

2. Tap “Security Center,” find the “Passkey” section, and tap “Add Passkey”;
 3. Complete account identity verification first (existing 2FA verification such as Google Authenticator or SMS verification). After verification passes, verify account information and tap “Continue”;

4. The system will pop up a verification method selection window, offering three options:
Method 1: Device biometrics (fingerprint/face) — directly use your device’s built-in biometric feature; once verified, creation completes;
Method 2: USB/NFC security key — insert a USB security key or tap an NFC security key on the back of the device; after verification, creation completes;
 Method 3: Google Password Manager — if you have enabled Google Password Manager, you can sync Passkeys across Android devices;

5. After verification completes, the system will display “Passkey created successfully.” You can rename the Passkey on the corresponding page to complete creation.

(3) Web (Computer Browser) Creation Process
 1. Open a browser (recommended latest versions of Chrome or Safari), visit the official TEBBIT website, and log in to your account;
 2. Click your avatar at the top right, select “Account Settings” from the dropdown menu, then find “Security Center”;

3. In Security Center, find “Passkey,” and click “Add Passkey”;

4. Complete account identity verification (existing 2FA verification), confirm your account email is correct, then click “Confirm” and continue;

5. The system will pop up a verification method selection window, allowing you to choose based on your needs:
Method 1: Local computer verification — if your computer supports biometrics (e.g., Mac’s Touch ID), verify directly via biometrics to complete creation; if no biometric feature, verify by entering your computer’s system PIN;
Method 2: USB/NFC security key — insert a USB security key or tap an NFC security key on the computer; after verification, creation completes;
Method 3: Mobile verification — click “Other devices” to generate a QR code, then scan it with a phone that has a bound TEBBIT Passkey. Use phone biometrics to verify and complete creation;

6. After verification passes, the browser will show “Passkey saved,” and the TEBBIT page will display successful creation. You can rename the Passkey to complete the process.

(4) Renaming Process
 1. Locate the Passkey you want to rename;
 2. Click the “Rename” icon, a text box will pop up. Enter your custom name (e.g., “My iPhone 17,” “iPad Pro,” “Huawei Mate 60”—it is recommended to use device-related names for easy identification);
 3. After entering the name, click “Confirm.” The system will prompt “Rename successful,” and you can see the updated name in the list.

(5) Deletion Process
 1. Locate the Passkey you want to delete and click it to enter the details page;
 2. Click the “Delete” icon. The system will pop up a confirmation window with the message “Deleting this will prevent this device from logging in using this Passkey. Are you sure you want to delete?”;
 3. Click “Confirm Deletion.” The system will require account identity verification (complete 2FA verification). After passing verification, the Passkey will be deleted immediately;

4. After successful deletion, the system will prompt “Passkey deleted,” and the Passkey will be removed from the list. If iCloud sync is enabled, the Passkey will also be deleted from associated devices.

3. Frequently Asked Questions

1. After enabling Passkey, can I still log in with a password?

Yes. Passkey is an additional authentication method and does not replace your existing password login. You can choose to log in using “Password” or “Passkey + Biometric Authentication” according to your preference, providing double security.

2. Can I use Passkey after changing devices?

Yes. If you have enabled cross-device sync (iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager), after changing devices, just log in with the corresponding account (Apple ID/Google account) to sync your Passkeys. If sync is not enabled, you can create new Passkeys on the new device, and Passkeys on the original device will still work normally.

3. What if I forget my device unlock password or biometrics stop working and I cannot use Passkey?

You can log in to your TEBBIT account using the original login method (password + 2FA), go to “Security Center,” delete the invalid Passkey, and create a new Passkey.

4. Can Passkey be bound to multiple devices?

Yes. One TEBBIT account can bind multiple Passkeys for different devices (phones, computers), allowing you to use them in multiple scenarios. Each device’s Passkey is independent and does not interfere with others. (However, only one Passkey can be added per device type).

5. Will renaming a Passkey affect login or synchronization?

No. Renaming only changes the display name of the Passkey and does not alter its core authentication credentials. It does not affect login, transaction verification, or cross-device synchronization. It is only for your convenience in distinguishing devices.

6. After deleting a Passkey, can I recreate and bind it to the device again?

Yes. Deleting a Passkey only unbinds the device from the account and does not restrict future recreation. You can recreate the Passkey by following the creation process for the respective device without any additional restrictions.

7. What if some Android devices do not support Passkey during login?

If your device shows that Passkey is not supported, we recommend using another device or logging in using other secure methods.

4. Friendly Reminders

  1. Please keep your devices safe to avoid Passkey misuse if the device is lost;
  2. It is recommended to set a lock screen password (or biometric unlock) on your device to further enhance Passkey security;
  3. If your device is lost, immediately log into your TEBBIT account and delete the Passkey bound to that device to prevent security risks;
  4. If you need help, please contact TEBBIT official customer service for one-on-one guidance;
  5. When renaming Passkeys, it is recommended to use clear device identification names to avoid confusion; before deleting a Passkey, please ensure the device is idle or no longer in use to avoid accidentally affecting normal login.
